Congratulations to Shakila Asif on being recognized as the September 2019 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 4 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Asif!

Below is the write up submitted by Ms. Leslie Lauth-Torres, a colleague of Ms. Asif. 

Shakila Asif is an instructional assistant with a commitment to excellence. Shakila and I have had the pleasure of working together for 4 school years in a preschool autism class. Shakila brings many talents to our classroom team, especially in the area of organization. Details make a big difference in the smooth running of a classroom. This fall we welcomed a new member to our classroom team. I quickly realized how many details Shakila just quietly handles in a day as we began to teach our new team member. Shakila has taken our new colleague under her wing and is patiently teaching her about the many tasks that need to be completed each day for our students to have successful days at school. The transition has been as smooth as it could be due to Shakila’s consistency and commitment to our students. I am grateful to have Shakila as my colleague.
