Mrs. Jeannie Waters grew up in the city of Chicago, on the north side. She completed her undergraduate studies in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin. She is certified in Environmental Policy and lived in Kenya, Africa. After graduating from college, she moved to Northern Virginia and taught preschool at Catholic University, Grade 6 and was an Instructional Resource Teacher in Prince George’s County Schools and Grade 4 in DC Public Schools before joining FCPS in 1999 as a grade 5 teacher. She completed her Master’s in Education in Educational Leadership at George Mason University. She worked as an Instructional Coach and as an administrator at three FCPS elementary schools. She advocated for disabled students at The Maryland State Department of Education, Division of Special Education and Early Intervention as an achievement and professional development specialist. Mrs. Waters and her husband have four daughters, Olivia (12), Lila (11), Ava (9) and Sadie (7) who attend Fairfax County Schools and who keep her very busy, all four play travel soccer. Her hobbies are coaching Cross Fit and Cross Fit Kids and exercising with her husband, friends and daughters.
