Mr. Mark Bibbee was born and raised here in Northern Virginia and attended Fairfax County Public Schools from kindergarten through graduation from Falls Church High School. He graduated from Longwood University in 1993, with degrees in Physics and History as well as gaining his teacher’s certification. Upon graduation from Longwood, Mr. Bibbee began teaching physical science at Key Middle school while coaching at Mount Vernon High School (Baseball, Girls Basketball, and Football). After two years at Key he taught physics at Mount Vernon High School, West Potomac High School, and West Springfield High School. He also continued coaching high school girls basketball at Mount Vernon and West Springfield as well as coaching on the Girls AAU circuit during that time. In 2003, Mr. Bibbee graduated with a Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from George Mason University. His first administrative position began in 2005 as an assistant principal at Navy Elementary school in the Fair Oaks area. In 2010, Mr. Bibbee became the principal here at Cherry Run Elementary and has enjoyed his time here very much! Mr. Bibbee is married to Mrs. Melissa Bibbee, who is a teacher at Chantilly High School and is also a Northern Virginia native and FCPS Graduate (Herndon High School). He has two daughters, Skylar (currently a sophmore at Chantilly High School) and Peyton (currently a 7th grader at Rocky Run MS) who both play basketball for the Fairfax Stars EYBL club and soccer for the SYA Cardinals. Mr. Bibbee enjoys sports (all of them), coaching, reading, and collecting baseball cards.
